is continuously being requested by Community Groups, Schools,

requests out number the human resources that we are able to provide.

For that reason, the ICV is seeking out volunteers with a passion for
speaking about Islam to the wider community and have an interest in
inter-faith dialogue and that can communicate in fluent English, keep
an audience interested, deal with tough questions in an appropriate
manner, have strong communications skills and have access to their own
transportation (travel costs will be reimbursed by ICV).

Volunteers will undergo an interview process as well as have to attend
a 2-3 hour training session at the ICV.

We are seeking volunteers from both sexes. Persons interested in
joining the Muslim Interfaith Network are encouraged to send an email
with a short description of themselves to admin at icv.org.au

EVENT: MUSLIM AID AUSTRALIA EMERGENCY APPEAL FOR HAITI

WHAT: Since the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010
Muslim Aid and its partners have been providing emergency medical care
and clean water to thousands of people.

Muslim Aid would like to thank all of our donors for their generous
donations which have helped to provide Food Aid, Water, and Medical
assistance to the people of Haiti.
However, our partners continue to report on the devastation in Haiti,
already the poorest nation in the western hemisphere. They are warning
that much more is needed to ensure food and medicine reaches the
people of Haiti in time.

Torrential rain that started on 18 January 2010 has caused a massive
flood in some densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip. The flood has
caused approximately 400 families to be displaced.

Muslim Aid Australia, through local partner Families Relief, are
working together to provide FoodAid, Shelter, ComfortAid and Water &
Sanitation to people (especially orphans and children) badly affected
by the flood.

Please show your support by HELPING to provide Emergency Relief to the
victims of the Gaza Flood.

EVENT:LECTURE: MUSLIMS AND THE WEST: WHAT FUTURE?

WHAT: Contemporary Muslim societies and the Western world are locked

enriching opportunities and devastating collisions. How to capitalise

present and the making of the future. This lecture addresses the topic
by posing and exploring two related questions -- one from the West and
the other from the Islamic world.

WHEN: Monday 15 March, 6.30pm

WHERE: Carrillo Gantner Theatre, Sidney Myer Asia Centre, University
of Melbourne, cnr Swanston Street and Monash Road, Parkville.
