Workshop - Muslim British Experience in Political Engagement

The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) in conjunction with the  
Federation of Australian Muslim Students and Youth (FAMSY) invites you  
to the workshop (British Muslims' Experience in Political Engagement).

The workshop will be run by Sh.Hasan Albanna the co-founding director  
of the Islamic Institute for Development & Research (IIDR) in the UK  
(http://iidr.org).

Tickets: (includes light refreshments)
Waged: $25
Concession/Student: $15

The Victorian Multicultiral Commision is looking for Muslims to join the MMYN.
The Multifaith Multicultural Youth Network (MMYN) was established in  
2007 to focus on issues relevant to young people of diverse faiths and  
cultures.
The MMYN is comprised of 25 young people representing different  
faiths, cultures, geographic locations and life experience.
Through the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) and the Office  
for Youth (OFY), the MMYN provides advice to the Victorian Government  
on a range of multifaith, multicultural youth issues and initiatives.
So, if you are between 16–25, enthusiastic and looking to contribute,  
send us an application form. It’s an opportunity for you to  
participate, lead and make a difference.

RMIT University is producing a series of short five minute  
documentaries with the goal of displaying the existence of being a  
young Arabic or young Arabic Muslim in Melbourne. The objective is to  
explore how the media has attempted to successfully or unsuccessfully  
shatter generalisations and stereotypes of previous minority groups  
and bring awareness to the realities of the Islamic experience in  
Melbourne.
